We are currently needing help in the following volunteer ministry areas:
Bible Study Leaders
Study leaders will guide their group through the study materials, focusing on learning from the Word of God and applying the concepts studied to everyday life. Teacher training is available.
Prayer team
Prays and teaches the women to pray. Meets regularly to pray for the PWOC group, the Chaplains and our base community. Prayer team leader communicates with the Prayer Coordinator of the PWOC West region.
Vice President of ProgramsPlans and executes programs in line with the PWOCI yearly theme for the spiritual growth and enrichment of local PWOC participants and their guests. Works closely with each executive board member to ensure successful planning.
Hospitality
Provides for the fellowship needs of the local PWOC.
Assists in setting up, breaking down, and cleaning after events and gatherings.
Member Care
Welcomes participants and newcomers to PWOC meetings and fosters a sense of belonging, encourages the women of PWOC by acknowledging birthdays, anniversaries, etc and sending an appropriate card. Organize meals for ladies who have been sick, recently had surgery, recently had a baby, etc. Watch for those who will soon need a little extra help with meals and discuss with them.
Retreat Coordinator/Event Planner
Executes all details of the retreat (such as speaker, location, schedule, supplies
etc.) on behalf of the board.
Works closely with each executive board member to ensure successful planning.
Outreach/Inreach
Coordinates ministry projects to meet needs within the base community (Outreach) and the local PWOC (Inreach). In - Playgroup, mom’s night out, etc. Out - deployed spouse’s night out, single airman’s Christmas dinner, blankets for the hospital, etc.
Praise and Worship
Leads women in seeking God and exalting His name in times of group worship. Music selection, chapel equipment, etc.
Publicity
Promote PWOC events in the chapel and community; represent PWOC at Right Start, flier and brochure distribution, new ideas for getting the word out.
Watchcare Volunteer
Ministers to the needs of the women of PWOC by caring for their children so they may focus on their study of the Word of God.
